One of my favorite quotes is

“The grand formula for happiness is: Something to do, something to look forward to, and someone to share it with”

And I couldn’t agree more. I think the most important part of that quote is probably having something to look forward to, because I have found that as long as you can dream of a better day, you can get through almost anything difficult in life. I remember going through a tough time in college a few years ago, when I temporarily dropped out to reflect upon what it is I really wanted to study. At the time I had no real friends, lived far away from my family, and with no classes to attend, my only real reason for getting out of bed every day was to figure out how I was gonna achieve all my long term dreams.

I have so many dreams I sometimes forget to live in the present. Some dreams are difficult to achieve, if you look at the odds, like my music career goals. Some are perfectly realistic and attainable, such as a desired salary or a weight I’d like to reach. Some are more along the lines of “if I had a million dollars…” Some are near-future dreams, such as visions for how I’d like to decorate the apartment. And then there are the daily goals, which is often just checking of the to-do list so as to make tomorrow more comfortable. More —> Continue reading →
